We met in 2006 and realized a mutual passion for aviation. Jared holds a commercial helicopter license, while Heather possesses a private pilot's license. We were married in 2007 during Heather's time in the Physician Assistant Program at Union College. Our dream has always been to serve as missionaries. After graduating from Union College, we focused on paying off student loans, working full time, and raising our two boys. Throughout this time, Jared maintained his pilot's license while working as an industrial maintenance technician. By around 2020, we became debt-free and could seriously begin pursuing our dream of mission service. At an ASI conference in 2021, we met Dwayne Harris, the director of PAMAS (Philippine Adventist Medical Aviation Services), a mission organization in the Philippines that provides medical evacuation flights to remote mountain villages. In early February of 2023, we officially became AngelOne missionaries. AngelOne is an aviation ministry that connects aviation missionaries with ministries in need of community support and volunteers. Around the same time, we accepted the call to become missionaries with PAMAS, starting our term in May of 2023. The position we accepted with PAMAS is a 100% volunteer role. We are entirely dependent upon God and the generosity of His people for our monthly needs.

We have been in the Philippines since May of 2023, based at the PAMAS Mindanao base in Bukidnon near the campus of Mountain View College. From this location, we conduct medical evacuation flights into the remote villages of the mountains in this area. PAMAS (Philippine Adventist Medical Aviation Services) partners with SULADS, an organization that provides literacy training to people in unreached areas. Through this partnership, we help bring missionaries, supplies, and much-needed community support, including access to healthcare in critical situations, to isolated and difficult-to-reach areas.

PAMAS is engaged in seven different facets of ministry in the Philippines: Aviation, which includes critical medical evacuation flights, education in remote jungle villages, medical and dental work with a focus on lifestyle medicine, Bible work and evangelism, agriculture, construction, and radio. Our desire is to see mission aviation expand in the Philippines, recognizing the potential for community support by bringing aid to hard-to-reach villages through the unique capabilities of helicopters. Currently, we are working to enhance our medical missions in geographically isolated and disadvantaged areas, partnering with other ministries to expand medical work. We are also praying about how helicopters can further support the development of sustainable agricultural practices in mountainous regions where children and families face malnutrition.
